Here’s a list of representative work I’ve had published in the recent past.
Freelance Writer, Social Media, Business Profiles
I’m an experienced journalist with more than 30 years writing for magazines, newspapers and nonprofits. I’ve been published in metro city newspapers including The Seattle Times and the Kansas City Star, and in magazines like Reader's Digest. I love to use my creativity to craft stories for publication in print and online. My talents also include writing for social media sites and blogging.
I’m experienced in writing business stories and marketing them to media outlets for publication. Such things as grand openings, anniversaries, special celebrations and expansions are what I can capture in words for the small business owner and place on websites and in newspapers.
My strong interest in history has led me to write family histories for others so that none of the important family stories get lost and can be shared from generation to generation.
I have a special talent for writing obituaries. When my father asked me to pre-write his obituary, I decided to add this service to my repertoire. Now, 10 years later, it's become common for people to pre-write what they want said about them after they pass. (See the questionnaire I use here.)
